IMU upgrade info

I removed the original IMU unit and purchased an ISM330DHCX from Adafruit.

The package seams to be slightly narrower and pinout markings are slight different.

I was able to fit the package in by bending the header pins.

Do I have the correct IMU ?

Has there been any modification to PCB or is the pin order the same?

I cant find anything about changing IMU chips in the documentation.

I was able to get the answer from Bob Baggerman.

It is a direct electral replacement. Mechanically the new IMU is about 1-2mm narrower in the long axis.

The side with 5 pins is NC, not connected.

Use 1 pin and bend it to fit just for support.

Could glue a no conductive spacer as an alternative.

I cut the IMU chip in half longitudinally with a dremel tool.

Then desoldered the 5 pin side.

You don't have be careful on this side since it is not used electrically. Just heat and yank it.

The other row pin of requires some care to desolder

This needs to be in the manual !

Also how to modify the line in the software to change IMUs should be better documented.
